Dennis M. Robinson is a Director on the Ounalaskha Corporation (OC) Board of Directors. His current term expires in 2025. He initially served as a Director for OC from 1982 to 1994, and then again from 2015 to 2021.
Mr. Robinson has deep Unalaska roots and a strong desire to support the Ounalashka Corporation (OC). This drives him to stay current with the unique opportunities and challenges that face Unalaska. These include shipping, fishing, energy, Arctic issues, environmental and ecological issues, as well as a greater Military/Coastguard presence. He follows all the above, via weekly fish reports and fishing industry policy changes that affect our community’s economy as well as OC’s investments. He immerses himself in trends locally, on a State and Federal level as well as worldwide. Staying abreast of what is happening in the energy industry and worldwide shipping, what they will require from our community, and what, in turn, will ultimately benefit the present and future of Unalaska, home to OC’s largest asset.
He has spent 20 years on the Board of Directors of OC. He also served or is serving on the following boards and councils: Unalaska City Council – 18 years; Alaska Municipal League, Director – 5 years; Southwestern Alaska Municipal Conference, Director – 6 years; Alaska Tribal Spectrum, Director; Marine Conservation Alliance, Director – 6 years; Ounalashka Settlement Trust, Trustee – 2017-2021, 2022 to present.
Mr. Robinson has been an independent business owner, having worked in the fishing and shipping industries, and Oil Support services. He’s committed to serving local non-profits with his time and money as well as serving on and supporting non-profit boards and committees. He lives with his wife Lynda of 22 years and has seven grown children and two grandchildren.
